Few professional bass anglers can make a living off tourney purses alone, or even off winnings and guiding combined, as the tourneys and travel keep you off the water too many days that you might otherwise be carrying a paying client. Pro anglers receive support from sponsor comapnies in exchange for promotional work (seminars, endorsements, etc.) done on their behalf. Attracting the right sponsors is a challenging aspect of the business of pro bass angling. Some anglers go to the highest bidder, and change sponsors on an almost annual basis. Conscientious anglers will only sign on with companies whose products they can endorse in good conscience, and use on an exclusive basis. Below are links to my own sponsors' sites. I am very proud of the fact that I have been with many of these same sponsors since I first got involved with the sport. In most cases, I used and relied on their products long before it became contractually advantageous to do so, simply because I felt that they were 'best of class' gear.
